The Seven Basics Planetary Talisman Series and the Minor Arcana Elemental Cycle Series, alongside selected studio works. All pieces are 48″ × 30″ oil on canvas with mineral pigments and metal leaf, unless otherwise noted.
Inspired by Paracelsus' seven basics of spagyric preparation, each painting was begun under its planet's astrological election and worked only on its planetary day. Before each session, the planet was invoked through ceremonial magic, the Orphic Hymn sung, and the appropriate incense burned. 48″ × 30″ · Oil, mineral pigments, and metal leaf on canvas.
Oils, casein, silver leaf
Commenced under a Moon in Taurus forming a sextile to the Sun in Cancer — born within a moment of emotional harmony and fertile grounding. Through the layered process of mischtechnik, the surface itself follows the lunar cycle: casein in waxing phases for soft radiance and inner glow, darker oils as the Moon waned to pull the viewer into shadow and subconscious terrain.
Silver leaf, the sacred metal of the Moon, seals the work — catching light in a way that shifts with the viewer's movement, mimicking the Moon's own reflective nature. A talisman of intuition, emotional regulation, and inner attunement.
Cancer crab painted during the full moon in Cancer.

Initiated at the exact moment Mercury aligned with the Ascendant in Gemini — the threshold between worlds, where thought becomes language and spirit becomes form. Painted exclusively on Wednesdays, the rhythm of the work mirrors Mercury's quicksilver nature: adaptive, fluid, intellectually charged.
A talisman of clarity, communication, and perception — heightening awareness and sharpening the mind. It invites dialogue, not only between people, but between inner and outer realities.
Hermit and Virgo painted with Mercury in Virgo.
Oils on canvas, copper leaf
Begun under Venus in Taurus — rooted in sensuality, embodiment, and the intelligence of beauty. Pigmented with malachite (rich in copper, Venus's sacred metal), the surface carries both material and symbolic resonance.
Green dominates the field: lush, fertile, alive — not passive beauty, but generative force. The kind that draws connection, intimacy, and creative flow. A talisman of love, attraction, and emotional harmony, softening boundaries while strengthening relational awareness.
Copper leaf applied during the Venus–Moon conjunction in Taurus.
Oils on canvas, gold leaf
Initiated on August 8th — the energetic apex of the Lion's Gate Portal — and worked on Sundays from there. Layer by layer the surface builds toward radiance until the painting feels almost animate. Gold leaf, the metal of the Sun, punctuates the composition with flashes of illumination and divine authority.
Yellow and gold tones evoke vitality, clarity, expansion. A talisman of life force, confidence, and creative power — it does not quietly exist; it radiates.
Gold leaf applied at the Sun's exaltation of 10° Aries.
Oils on canvas
Created during Mars's transit through Scorpio — a particularly potent expression of Martian force: focused, transformative, deeply instinctual. Iron oxide pigment sourced from the Rocky Mountains physically anchors the painting to the Earth, reinforcing Mars's association with raw material strength and survival.
The palette — cadmium reds and deep blacks — creates a field of intensity and motion. Painted exclusively on Tuesdays, the process itself demanded discipline and confrontation. A talisman of courage, willpower, and embodied action.
Scorpion painted while Mars was in Scorpio.
Oils on canvas
Initiated as Jupiter entered Pisces — the expansive, spiritual, and benevolent qualities of that alignment carried throughout. Infused with lapis lazuli, the surface holds a deep, celestial blue: historically associated with wisdom, divinity, and higher knowledge.
Worked on Thursdays, the painting developed slowly, allowing space for growth, intuition, and openness. A talisman of abundance, faith, and expansion — material, intellectual, and spiritual.
Wheel card / Jove painted with Jupiter in Pisces and Sun in Sagittarius.
Oils on canvas
Created during Saturn's transit through Aquarius — structure within innovation, discipline meeting vision. Bone black introduces a profound material symbolism: mortality, time, transformation. This is contrasted with lead white, offering moments of emergence and clarity within darkness.
Painted exclusively on Saturdays, the work demanded patience, restraint, commitment. A talisman of boundaries, mastery, and wisdom earned through experience — its presence is grounding, sobering, and stabilizing.
Lead white applied while Saturn was in positive aspect and rulership — the last until 2040.
Companion to the Seven Basics — the elemental ground beneath the planetary heaven. Each suit was begun on its corresponding solstice or equinox, dialoguing with the Kabbalistic Tree of Life. 48″ × 30″ · Oil on canvas.
Water · Fall Equinox
Initiated at the Fall Equinox, when light and dark are held in perfect balance before descent. Cups embodies the emotional threshold between fullness and release — water in its most reflective state: memory, grief, intuition, surrender.
The composition suggests fluid movement and quiet containment — emotion held just beneath the surface. Developed in a state of inward focus: quieter, slower, deeply receptive. A talisman that opens pathways into the emotional body and supports release, integration, and deep listening.
Earth · Winter Solstice
Begun at the Winter Solstice — the longest night of the year — Pentacles is rooted in stillness, density, and the unseen work of growth beneath the surface. The painting holds a grounded, almost gravitational pull: slow, deliberate, stabilizing.
Textures and tonal weight suggest material reality — body, labor, time, endurance. A talisman of stability, prosperity, and embodiment, anchoring the viewer and reinforcing connection to the physical world while quietly supporting long-term resilience.
Air · Spring Equinox
Initiated at the Spring Equinox, Swords emerges at a moment of sharp balance and new movement. The energy is precise, cutting, clarifying — direction and tension, like a thought forming or a truth being revealed.
The work was approached with heightened mental focus and intentional clarity. A talisman of intellect, truth, and discernment — cutting through illusion, inviting honesty, decision-making, and alignment with higher understanding, even when that clarity is uncomfortable.
Fire · Summer Solstice
Begun at the Summer Solstice — at the peak of light and solar power — Wands is pure expansion and creative ignition. Movement, heat, momentum: an outward surge of energy that feels alive and generative.
One of the most physically energized processes, reflecting fire's dynamic and consuming nature. A talisman of inspiration, action, and creation — sparking ideas, fueling ambition, encouraging bold expression.
